Post 283 wanted to share the following information regarding some scholarship opportunities in the American Legion family. Most scholarships have a March 1st deadline, but please check each individual scholarship, as deadlines may be different per opportunity.

·the Samsung Scholarship for children that attended Buckeye Boys or Girls State
·the Legacy Scholarship for kids of post 9/11 veterans
·the American Legion Baseball scholarship for kids that play American Legion Baseball
·Eagle Scout of the Year

Including:
·Past Presidents Parley for students pursuing a degree in the nursing field
·Spirit of Youth for junior American Legion Auxiliary for at least three yrs & plans to still renew their membership
·Non-Traditional Student scholarship, applicant must be a member of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion with dues paid the preceding two yrs and dues paid to date in the year of application
·National President's scholarship for children of veterans, who served in the Armed Forces during the eligibility of the American Legion, and have completed 50 hrs of community service hours
·Junior Member Loyalty scholarship for junior members of the American Legion Auxiliary, for the past three yrs, the current yr and maintain their membership through the scholarship period.
The American Legion Auxiliary also offers a Continuing Education Grant for upper-class students and the deadline is Dec 1, 2021.
