Good day my fellow Legion Members!
The red poppy is a nationally recognized symbol of sacrifice worn by Americans since World War I to honor those who served and died for our country in all wars. It reminds Americans of the sacrifices made by our veterans while protecting our freedoms. With the success of last year's poppy drive, our Auxiliary will once again recreate Flanders Fields on the grounds of Post #283.
Rather than soliciting donations through the standard paper poppy via face-to-face, donations are accepted online (www.alpost283.org/poppy-fund). In lieu of the traditional paper poppy, a red pinwheel poppy will be placed on the grounds of Post #283 to recreate Flanders Fields. So let's all pull together to create a beautiful sea of red pinwheels for the community to see!
Please share the above link with friends and family online! We plan to have poppies on display by Poppy Day, 05/26/2023, for all to see! Remember, all donations go to our Post Poppy Fund to support our Veterans!
Thank you for your time –
Post 283 Auxiliary
*Poppy Pinwheels are kept and planted each year in remembrance. Please consider a donation.
